Day 1

Objectives of workshop:

• To establish unified protocols-based approach towards breast cancer management.
• Understand role of multidisciplinary team members including BCN and psychologists.
• To explore opportunities for better training of medical staff.
• To demonstrate surgical skills in basic and advances Breast oncoplastic procedures, with simulated hands-on basic skills

Learning outcomes:

• Better understanding of each team member role, and importance of the holistic approach.
• Protocols utilization in day-to-day practice
• Gaining surgical knowledge and skills in patient selection, planning, marking, and performing oncoplastic procedures

Method of Delivery:

• Lectures with slide presentations, photos, and real cases videos demonstration.
• Using manikins for practicing procedure selection, planning, marking, and performing.

Work Plan:

• Presentations will include clinical illustration slides including videos of procedures
• Case based discussion in a therapeutic and oncoplastic MDT meeting simulation.
• Manikins will be used for demonstration, hands on for procedures marking and operating simulation.

Day 2

Objectives of workshop: Demonstrate surgical skills in basic and advances Breast oncoplastic procedures through performing live breast operations attended by candidates.

Learning outcomes: Better understanding of basic and advanced oncoplastic procedures. Gaining surgical knowledge and skills in patient selection, planning, marking, and performing oncoplastic procedures.

Method of Delivery: Real cases undergoing oncoplastic procedures on the day with video and two-way audio connection between theatre room and lecture room. MDT discussion of planned cases

Work Plan: ▪

• Case based discussion in the morning.
• Discussion of planned procedures and surgical options available.
• Four selected cases to cover most of the procedures discussed in day 1.
• Candidates will be able to attend the full operations through the projected video and ask questions during and after the surgery.
